FCCLA Chapter Wins Awards at State Peer Ed Meeting In Kearney

Members of the Howells-Clarkson FCCLA Chapter attended the State FCCLA Peer Education Meeting in Kearney on Monday, March 1. "Master the Art of Peer Education" was the theme for this year's meeting. The Peer Education Chapter Award trophies were awarded to the following chapters: Families First 1st Place - Howells-Clarkson, 2nd Place - St. Edward, 3rd Place - Howells-Clarkson; Financial Fitness 1st Place - Nebraska City, 2nd Place - Maxwell, 3rd Place - Howells-Clarkson; Student Body 1st Place - Maxwell, 2nd Place - Howells-Clarkson, 3rd Place - West Point. The chapter was also recognized for their outreach project.
The Peer Education Team scholarships were awarded to the following seniors: Families First - Brian Prusa of Howells, Financial Fitness - Amanda Janssen of Crofton and Student Body - Kara Hannon of Shelton. Sessions presented throughout the day included "Master the Art of Careers" by Carol O'Neal of Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, "Master the Art of Relationships" by the SAFE Center of Kearney, "Master the Art of Fitness" by Jennifer Henry of Arapahoe, and "Master the Art of Peer Education" by the State Families First Teams.
Attending from the Howells-Clarkson Chapter were Jessica Bartling, Carly Hegemann, Chelsea Krepel, Sidney Blum, Kourtney Janata, Nicole Bayer, Marissa Litty and Marla Prusa, State Families First Adviser.
