District 5 FCCLA Officers Meet in Columbus

The District 5 FCCLA Officers met in Columbus at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 for their fall planning meeting. President Janessa Evert of Howells called the meeting to order. Officers in attendance were Miguel Milan of Schuyler, Rachel Beckstead of East Butler, Katie Huisman of Leigh and Chelsea Niemann of David City and Janessa Evert of Howells, along with State Officer Casey McCutcheon of Leigh. Advisers attending were Tonya Zegers of David City, Jodi Guthmiller of Leigh, Marla Prusa of Howells and Sandy Bongers of East Butler. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Katie Huisman. secretary, of Leigh. The treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Zegers, District 5 Adviser. A thank you was read from the Howells FCCLA members who competed in the National STAR Events in Chicago in July. Old business included discussion of District Leadership Conference on October 1 in David City. Chapter duties, the day's schedule, and sessions were discussed. The Fall Leadership Workshop in Columbus on September 13 was also discussed. District STAR Events will be held on Schuyler on Jan. 21. Following supper, the meeting was adjourned.
