FCCLA Meets August 30

The Howells-Clarkson FCCLA Chapter met on Monday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Howells High School. A pasta supper was served before the meeting. The meeting was called to order by Katee Rocheford, Howells President. The 2010-2011 officers were introduced: District 5 President - Janessa Evert, Clarkson President - Jessica Stodola, Clarkson Vice President - Jill Janousek, Clarkson Secretary - Jessica Brabec, Clarkson Publicity Chairperson - Michelle Brabec, Howells President - Katee Rocheford, Howells Vice President - Brook Brester, Howells Secretary - Cori Renner, Howells Treasurer -Megan Chebuhar, Howells Publicity Chairperson - Emily Chebuhar, Howells Historian - Brenna Wragge, Howells Power of One Chairperson - Ashley Bazata, and Howells Recreation Chairperson - Sam Schlautman. New members were welcomed by the officers. Old business included congratulating the chapter for their 1st Place Youth Group/School Award and the 2nd Place Recycling Award from Keep Nebraska Beautiful,being winners last May of the Click It, Don't Risk It $1000 drawing, and for receiving the NOYS 50 Best Award. The FCCLA officers will be attending the FCCLA Fall Leadership Workshop on Monday, September 13 at Columbus. The FCCLA Tour for Jrs. and Srs. will be on Monday, September 27. The members will be touring Memorial Stadium and the Nebraska Correctional Center. The Howells FCCLA Pizza Sales fundraiser will begin later in September and delivery will be on November 6. FCCLA T-shirt designs should be submitted by September 13. The chapter will meet on Monday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. for the Fall Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up. State and national dues are $13 per member and should be paid by September 24. FCCLA has the concession stand for the Humphrey football game on September 24 and the Humphrey St. Francis game on October 15. Chapter parents for the year are Mike and Jean Rocheford Bob and Cindy Evert and Cheryl Sudbeck of Howells and Russ and Robyn Stodola, Allyn and Karen Papousek and Patti Reick of Clarkson. Chapter goals were discussed. District Leadership Conference will be held on October 1 at David City High School. Committees for conference duties were assigned. District STAR Events are Jan. 21 in Schuyler. The meeting was adjourned. Door prizes were given by Sam Schlautman to Michelle Brabec, Haley Kampschnieder, Cori Renner and Jordan Brichacek.
