The American Legion Albin Folda Post #155 will select and sponsor one junior male to Boys State. The dates for Boys State are June 6 - 12, 2010. Boys State is held on the campus of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. About 400 junior boys from across the state attend Boys State each year.
Cornhusker Boys' State is basically a short course in the practical application of Nebraska government. There will be a planned athletic program at the conclusion of each afternoon session. Optional recreation is also available, as well as participation in a combined Boys' State and Girls State band or chorus, or becoming a member of the Newsletter staff.
Junior boys interested in attending Boys' State need to write a short essay about why they would like to attend Boys' State and have the essay to Mr. Groene by Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
