FCCLA Meeting Held Jan. 11

The Howells-Clarkson FCCLA Chapter met on Monday, Jan. 11 at 8:00 p.m. at Howells High School.  Howells president Carly Hegemann called the meeting to order.  The minutes of the Dec. meeting was read by Jessica Bartling, Howells secretary.  Sidney Blum, Howells treasurer, reported there was no balance change since last month. Correspondence was read by the president.

Old business included thanking the sophomore members for providing snacks for the Christmas Party, the members who answered Santa letters and who bagged fruit and candy for adopted grandparents, and those who helped with the FCCLA Babysitting Service on Dec. 19.  Applications for State FCCLA Student Body, Families First,  or Financial Fitness Teams and FCCLA Scholarships are due Jan. 25.  Power of One Project forms are due Feb. 19.   FCCLA STAR Events on Friday, Jan. 15 at Dwight were discussed.

Items of new business included the FCCLA Concession Stand for the Howells-Clarkson basketball game on Friday, Jan 29, the Early Childhood Health Information Fair on Feb. 20 and the State Peer Ed. Meeting in Kearney on Feb. 21-22.  FCCLA Week will be held Feb. 8 - 12.  Plans were made for activities for the week.

Door prizes were presented by Kourtney Janata, recreation chairperson to Anthony Papousek, Jessica Stodola, Michelle Brabec and Kaitlyn Reick.

Lunch was provided by the Howells Freshmen. Work on STAR Events followed  the meeting.
