April News from the Fifth and Sixth Grade Classroom

May 01, 2012

The fifth and sixth grade students have been working very hard reviewing and practicing for the NeSA reading, math, and science tests. We have worked diigently and we hope the results show all of our effort.

We presented to our class the powerpoints on an AR book of our choice. We worked hard on these and created some great presentations. We discovered a lot special effects!

We attended the spring matinee presented by our high school students. We enjoyed the performance tremendously!

We spent some time working on the poppy posters for Memorial Day. We talked about symbolism of the poppy. We look forward to seeing all of the posters in the local business windows.

On Sunday, April 29th, we participated in the spring music concert. We sang two songs about friendship. We also played our instruments in the band and four of us showcased the skills we have learned in guitar class.

Our masks were on display at the Howells Public Library. We had fun creating them and we hope many of you got to see them!

Special thanks goes out to Jose S. who provided our classroom with Easter and birthday treats
